Celtic Rose Stables is a small Thoroughbred breeding farm owned/operated by Amanda Leahy and her daughter. Our farm is centrally located in Haldimand County, 45 minutes South of Hamilton and approx. 75 mins from Woodbine Racetrack.
We are proud members of the CTHS and breed Thoroughbred Racehorses for the Ontario market.

Amanda
I inherited my love of horses from my father Garry, who worked for the Ontario Jockey Club/Woodbine for 43 years. Growing up with a career handicapper for a father meant that our living room was littered with stacks of old racing forms, and my father would spend his evenings reading past performances in that teeny tiny font from the comfort of his recliner. His dedication was palpable.
It wasn’t long before I convinced good ol’ dad to leverage his connections to help me land a job at a small racing stable in North Brampton. There I would learn the ins and outs of horse husbandry – from feeding and mucking to rehabbing and foaling.
Jump to 30 years later and I am the proud owner of a small string of race broodmares. Although relatively new to the breeding industry, my knowledge and connection to racing is life-long.
